It's too early to make any bold decisions on Hills, but if he continues to improve this year, I can really dig a potential QB-RB-WR combo of Hills-Brown-Diggs for the next few years. It's nice to have highly-touted recruits actually step up and play well early on - seems like when we actually do get top recruits, they flounder and our stars come out of nowhere. Huge game next week vs. UCONN. For all the crap that Edsall has gotten the last year or so (both deservedly so and the criticism that isn't fair), it'll be big if he can get this team to win vs. his old school and start out 3-0. I don't think we can run with the best teams in the ACC by any means, but Edsall can make a big statement about this team with a win next Saturday.

Also, it's obvious that it makes a huge difference when you have players who, you know, actually want to play for the coach. Instead of the players of last year who pouted and cried and complained non-stop, we have players who actually want to play for Edsall. You can tell the entire attitude of the team is improved.

Finally, Joe Vellano is going to be a beast in the NFL somewhere. I wonder if he'll end up as a 3-4 DE or a 4-3 DT (maybe somewhere like NE where he can play both), but he has an unstoppable motor and is the best player on the team and was one of the best players in the nation last year. I also think Hartsfield will find his way on to a roster next spring, and I'm praying AJ does as well.

ND got the win, but the offense looked pretty weak. A bunch of underclassmen stepped up today, so that's huge. Two tough games coming up.

Flipped to FOX.   Now I know why Omaha stepped up for today's Nats' game ...  :)

Agreed on all. Velano will get a starting job at some point some where. He's one of those players that just works his ass off until they have no choice but to play him. Besides, he's actually talented too.

DPM, Martinez's throwing motion looks dreadful.

Can't believe they might lose on a safety.

Terrible INT. Every throw I have seen Martinez make since I turned the game on a little bit ago has been awful. He has no touch and looks like he is shotputting the football.

Who is ULM?
University of Louisiana - Monroe

The Bobby Petrino era of success just went down in flames tonight.

Not exactly breaking news.  It actually looks a lot better than it did last year when his line is able to protect for him, which they weren't able to do much in the 2nd half.

It's not good this year.   Only one good team.  Two or three have a chance to be by season's end, but right now, just Michigan St.

I wanted to see Danny O'brien do well in Wisconsin, but we all know Randy Edsall was watching and felt a little bit of satisfaction that it wasn't just his fault that Danny blew chucks last year.

Kid shows flashes, but too many Terps fans (and myself at times) worshipped him when a lot of it was smoke and mirrors (i.e. Torrey Smith). Not to mention he was downright terrible last year and you can't pin his play all on coaches (especially when you consider CJ and now Perry have shown just as many flashes).

Ummm Danny O'Brien was lights out last week.  So what he had a bad game.

I'd rather have DOB than the other MD QBs.

He'll be fine.  Once he gets settled in, he'll be just fine, but he hasn't been there very long and is still learning.  Couple more weeks and they'll be better.  Next year he should be a lot better.  But the Wisconsin fans who expected him to be Russell Wilson set the bar way too high.

That said, they gotta beat Oregon St.

Soon they'll start playing conference games and rising in the rankings again- I don't understand how they can be so bad,  they spend a fortune on football,  have overpaid name coaches,  recruit nationally,  but as soon as a player gets to Madison or Ann Arbor,  it's like they double their 40 time

I think he'll be a lot better than yesterday obviously, but some Maryland fans worshipped the ground he walked on and blamed every one of his struggles on Edsall despite the fact that he was beyond terrible in his decision-making and throwing ability last season. I had no problem with him transferring.

I agree with that. Edsall was the root of all evil in College Park for some reason or another. The biggest reason, to me, for his problems last year was that he just didn't fit the system. He wasn't athletic enough to play the style of offense they wanted to run. C.J. Brown was athletic enough, but wasn't the passer O'Brien was. Hills looks to be a nice combination of the two, but is pretty raw still.
