That is a wicked curve. Why can't he throw it like that all the time?!!

And now he decides he can throw his curve ball. We could have used that in the last 2 innings.  :|

Zoinks. That was an awesome inning. He's starting to settle down - one or two more innings is a definite possibility.

Let's give O'Connor the win!

(...haha, I sound like a total silly fan now...)

Milledge way over-anxious. I don't know why he swings for the fences when he has zero power.

Game Plan:
Milledge doubles
Kearns singles
Pena flies out
Nieves singles, 2 runs score
O'Connor bunts Nieves over
Flopsy doubles, 1 run scores
Guzman grounds out

...Let it happen, please!?

EDIT: It didn't happen.

Kearns overmatched.  Glad to see we are making a reliever with a 5+ ERA look like a stud.

I can still tell that Milledge is going to end up being great for us. His problems are a lot easier to fix than most.

How about Pena and Nieves hit back-to-back solo homers?

How so?  I thought he had power. He has none to speak of.  He's only hit 1 blast and that was in the bandbox in Philly.

Pena has not gotten in front of one fastball all year. He is always freaking late

It's because he's swinging for the fences. That's his problem. He doesn't have crazy power, but he has the swing to hit plenty of homers.

perfect. Florida wins, Atlanta wins, Mets are up 3-0 over Arizona (Owings blows), Philly is tied.  We were the only team in the division to win last night and tonight it looks like we will be the only team to lose.

(Owings blows)

Because he's losing 3-0? You're wrong on that one. I watched two of the games he's pitched so far this year, and he's got good stuff. He's better than anyone we have here.

The "Owings blows" comment is pretty emblematic of the reasons I don't take certain forum members seriously...

Hitting-wise, yes. He'd bat cleanup for us (seriously).  He's going to eventually move to the OF or something.  His bat is far better than his pitching.

One outing doesn't define a pitcher. Just look at what Sabathia did his first couple of times out this season.

I'd rather have Boone in the lineup than Pena at this point.
