BOOOOOO!!!!!! Having a bad series vs Philly, that's semi-understandable. But our ace on the mound vs a bottom feeder that traded away half their team and getting shelled 5-0 is not understandable. This team is melting down fast. The only thing missing is a Braves hot streak which I am sure is around the corner.

Looks like a Red Sox-esque collapse is coming on.  Well, it was fun while it lasted I guess.

We can't score 6 runs.  This game is over.  How in the world does Carlos Lee steal a base?  What has happened to this team?

See you guys at the play-in game at San Francisco.  Better buy your plane tickets now.

This is who we always were.

The other stuff was done with smoke and mirrors ... and amazingly hot pitching.

I was afraid they were playing way over their heads but my concerns were put to bed as they continued to play good baseball into late August. I can't believe they are just now melting down and reverting to past Nationals form.

Nats will be fine. Even if they lose this game they've had one of the best records in August.

The sad thing is Stras gave us absolutely zero chance to come back in this game. 5-0 in the third inning, game over. Offense will punt the rest of the game.

If the Nats don't come back and win tonight there'd better be slaughtered chickens on South Capitol street tomorrow morning.

It's the mental gaffes that are so concerning.  Yes, the heart of our lineup is ice cold, but it's like our heads are elsewhere.  WTF is this?  2 days off were not helpful.

Yep. Everyone expected about 85 wins right from the start, but they had horseshoes up their asses for months.  Things even out in baseball.  Now 85 seems about right (though I wouldn't bet on that).

but the braves are not playing well either, we could've really gone up on them.  just making it hard on ourselves.

they say they aren't pressing, but you can see it ... the nats are pressing.

Can they at least get a couple hits? BTW, even if the Nats bat .300 from now on Eckstein is a terrible coach. Way too much flailing at bad pitches on this team.
