In my first year as a homeowner, I'm happy to have barely used my snow shovel, between having a corner sidewalk, a driveway on an incline and a walkway, I'm really hoping for no snow

Loving how this is shifting over us.  CWG is now giving us a 45% chance of 8" of snow.

I would ignore wxrisk, just a bad site that is often way, way off.

somethign more than what we have so far and less than what we had last year would be ideal. :-)

Keeps changing, now they are saying "5 or more inches of snow possible" for me.  Nice.  "possible"

Here's my forecast:

Snow or sunshine or heatwave or rain or sleet or toads falling from the sky possible.

God dammit everything is different.  TWC says I'm right by the line for 1-3 and 3-6, that map shows me directly in the middle of the 4-8+

I hate snow.  Why the hell can't adults get snow days like we used to in school!  Then I'd be all about it.

Tell me about it, I'd rather not have to burn PTO for snow days.  Unless that snow is Peruvian...

At the god forsaken inhuman hellhole that I work you get an attendance point if you call out due to snow unless at least 50% of the entire facility calls out.

I drive a car.  It doesn't have 8" of ground clearance.  I can't drive through 8" of snow.

snow + full-time telecommuting = no fun.

I have a real love-hate relationship with telecommuting.  It's nice to be able to keep caught up when I'm physically unable to go in to the office but frustrating in not being able to focus at home due to distractions (like NBA Jam).  Maybe if I had a dedicated office at home I'd feel differently...

freak snow

I'm a Western PA boy.   I loved playing in the snow as a kid.   I'd sled ride until my gloves froze.   Then, I'd go in the house, get new gloves and go back out.    Damn near had frost bite a few times.   Played football at the playground (on cement) with a 12" base.    Now ... I know why old white people move to Florida.

VDOT just cancelled overnight work projects so the roads can be pre-treated.  Latest maps are all snow instead of a mix.  Even the anti-snow hosers on TV are calling for 4-8"+.  It's gonna be a doozy.

I've made the decision.   I'm staying at my niece's place in Arlington tomorrow night.     It's a long slog back and forth from Loudoun and I'm "essential" (whatever the hell that means).    Might go to the Quarter Deck and put down a few pitchers  ...   or Crystal City somewhere.    I'll leave my car at work in SW DC and play it by ear.    I'm old but I love a good adventure.   I'd prefer the South Pacific islands though (LOL).

The weather rock is cold, so it's cold. I'll check it again after the first flakes fall to see if it is snowing
