I like it, but I'm pretty sure there's a good chance JZ may start the year in AAA-Syracuse.

I think Bowden said he'll be given a good chance to make the MLB rotation.

No I agree, I was saying that in case JZ didn't make the big league club out of camp.

VanAllen got the win today, first by a Nationals pitcher all Fall I believe.

Zinicola pitched the 9th and had his worst outing of the fall: 1 IP 3 H 2 R 2 ER 0 BB 1 K.

Detwiler has really played well... If I'm the Nats, I'd start him in AA, but give him a promotion to AAA if he does well in like mid-may.

Detwiler gave up his first ER so far in the AFL in tonight's 7-3 loss to Scottsdale.

1 IP 2 H 2 R 2 ER 0 BB 2 K 1 HR. He struck out 2 of the first 3 batters he faced and then with two outs he gave up a 2-Run HR to Left-Handed hitter Mark Ori. I have no clue why Ross and several of the pitchers in our organization always fall apart after getting 2 outs in an inning.

Leonard Davis played again and went 1/4 with a Double.

Jesus Flores played Catcher for the first time since being injured by Chase Utley in September. At the plate he went 1/3 with a Single.

In the DWL, Licey 7-5 over the Estrellas.

EB went 1/3 with a Single, Run, and 2 Walks. A. Hernandez went 1/4 with a Single, RBI, and Walk.

Roger Bernadina and Alberto Gonzalez are both playing for the Bravos de Margarita in the VWL. Neither is tearing it up.

bernadina particularly is hitting terribly, but it is a VERY small sample size(40ABs).  plus he's ONLY 24(*echo* 24......24.........24.....)!

Frank Diaz is ripping it up though.

To be honest I'm just glad they are playing. The numbers don't mean a whole lot.

Peoria dropped 20 runs today on Scottsdale in a 20-9 victory. The Sags are now 18-8.

Bill Rhinehart went 3/6 with a HR, 4 RBIs, and 3 Runs scored.

Ian Desmond went 3/6 with a Triple, 2 RBIs, and a Stolen base.

Zinicola had another sub-par outing. 1 IP 3 H 2 R 2 ER 0 BB 0 K.

What are Rhinehart's numbers?  Seems like he has been red hot.

Is it official that Rhineahrt could be labeled as a "streaky" hitter?  Not only that, but his streaks tend to last longer than most.  In 2008, his hot streak started early and lasted until about June/July, then he batted pretty poorly in Harrisburg to end the year.  A few weeks later as AFL started, he picked up where he left off - slow.  Now it seems he's hitting the ball again, really well.  Super hot, it seems.

If he can just figure out how to control his hot streaks longer than his cold streaks, he'll get a lot of attention.  Regardless, he rarely batts even.

Alberto Gonzalez just keeps hitting. What a steal he was. He's got to make the team as a back-up SS.

Here are his numbers so far in the VWL: 10/29 (.345 BA/.412 OBP/.345 SLG), 3 RBIs, 9 Runs, 4 BBs, 1 K.

I think that trade has reinvigorated his career much like the Anderson Hernandez trade.

Another day, another dominant win for the Saguaros as they topple the Javelinas 13-4.

Desmond batted in the lead-off spot and went 2/5 with a HR, Double, Run, and an RBI.

Leonard Davis was in the DH spot and went 1/3 with a Double, Run, RBI, and a Walk.

Licey wins 8-1 over the Estrellas.

EB played RF and went 3/4 with a Double and 2 Singles. EB has been playing CF/RF over the last several weeks for the Tigres with Erick Aybar playing SS and Anderson Hernandez playing 2B.

Hernandez went 0/4 with a Run scored.

If EB shows versatility, he may earn a spot on the 25 man even if he gets beaten out for 2nd.  I'd say this enhances his value, if only slightly.  We already knew he can play 2nd with the best of them.

He has yet to commit an error while playing in the outfield for the Licey Tigres. I believe he has 1 assist to boot.
