Nope.  ESPN Sunday Night Baseball is done, and all the FOX games are A.L. games.

Thanks.     :(

95 wins places this team 3rd in Washington Nats history.

Nope.   95 is #1.

Highest total was last year - 80.

The Senators may have won more at some time.    Different team.  Mets fan boards do not include N.Y. Giants records.

Does it have to be a Penguin?

I just choose a different graphic each game.    There are other penguins besides Pittsburgh.     One night it was a bear.   What if someone is not a Cal fan?    ;)   Just gotta be lose and go with the flow.

It's appropriate to call historical Washington baseball teams the Nats, or Nationals, as for most of its history that was the official name of the franchise.

I don't give a freak what Mets fans include or don't include on their board. I recognize Washington baseball history. My parents were Senators fans so to me that's what counts as far as Washington baseball.

It's appropriate to call historical Washington baseball teams the Nats, or Nationals, as for most of its history that was the official name of the franchise.

They were called the Nationals until the 1950's. And even when they officially changed the name to the Senators they were called the Nats in Washington so whatever RL04 is talking is hogwash.

It's amazing to me that even with how crappy we've played, we still have the best record in the league.

couldn't find the 'Gio/Cy Young' thread.  This is AWESOME

ESPN Stats & Info ‏@ESPNStatsInfo

Gio Gonzalez now 21 wins in 199 1/3 IP. If doesnt start again, would be 1st pitcher in MLB history with 21+ wins in under 200 IP

Was at the game tonight.  Possibly my best baseball moment as a fan.  I sat two rows behind Rizzo and talked to him a few times, shook his hand and got a pic with him.

Also there was a woman very obviously cheering for the Nats about two rows above me and maybe ten seats in.  She was calling out the ump behind the plate on balls that were obvious balls but still showed tons of passion and kept calling Gio "G".  I have never heard him called that before and now I know why, the person calling him G was his mom.  I met Gio's mom and dad!!!!!!!  They were awesome!  Very nice down to earth people who were happier that I was a fan of Gio's and showed him support even when he was struggling out there.  I couldn't be more impressed.

Then, (I know what you are thinking, THERE IS MORE?  This guy got lucky!) A player tossed a ball to Rizzo (I believe it was the Kratz strikeout and throw to LaRoche in 6th) and Rizzo gave it to me.  Then Gio's mom handed me her phone and told me to call her so Gio can sign the ball!

Luckily I've got work down in DC next Thursday, so I will go down Wednesday and take in the last game of the season and take Mrs. Gio up on the autograph offer!

I feel like clippard got all comfortable back in his 8th inning groove.   Hopefully this is the start of clip and storen being the 8th and 9th inning guys they were last year.

Also said they found a mechanical thing that needed to be adjusted the other day.

Honestly it all goes back to something I read before spring training 2011.  Just after I had complained that the Nats should go after every guy who has had arm trouble (Brandon Webb (yeesh) and Duchscherer (double yeesh) someone had posted something about the A's possibly letting Gio go around the deadline in 2011.  I looked into him and became hooked.  The deadline passed, and then came free agency.

As soon as the A's said they were making Gio available, I went ballistic because I wanted him on the Nats.  Low and behold right around Christmas I got my wish.  I was working in DC at the Newseum (I'm from New Jersey and do lots of travel for work) and noticed it on the way home while stuck in traffic on the BW Parkway.  I immediately called one of my best friends who is a Braves fan and we discussed rotations for at least an hour or so of that drive (ended up being 4 hours when it's normally 3).  I got a great Christmas gift.

I told that story (well the Christmas part) to Gio's mom.  She was pretty happy about it.  All they kept saying was "thank you for being such a huge fan of my son".  What great people!
