I'd like to close out 2011 with three NY (and one OH) notches in the whoopa$s stick.

I've never seen a team get behind so consistently like this Caps team. Unreal

On the road, this team is a complete disaster. At home, they're much closer to their usual selves.

Overall, a very mediocre team that is in real danger of not making the playoffs. I wonder what Ted would do if that happened.

Oh wait, nothing, because he delusionally believes this team's window is open for the next 15 years :lmao:

I'd rather be forced to watch the nba, then watch this crap the caps call hockey.

Jeez, I'm excited cus I'm over at my BiL house and get to watch the Caps. Turn it on and its 4-0 nothing in the first period?

Welp ... MLB network is showing the oddest plays of the season ...

It's a little too early to say too much but what if our window is now closed? It appears that is the case. This certainly isn't an elite team anymore. That 3-4 year window is gone. This team needs to be shaken up in the offseason. This is why I was so pissed when we were choking all of those years in the playoffs. It's not easy to be a successful team for very long. When you have a chance you have to strike while the iron is hot. Now the team needs to be rebuilt/retooled. Going to be tough to win it all any time soon.

The best team this organization has had since the 98 team was the 07-08 team. They could've gone all the way had they gotten some breaks vs. the Flyers, I think...08-09 was also pretty damn good but honestly since Ovechkin's suspension and the Montreal series this team has the mental fortitude and confidence of 10 year olds.

Again, I try to stay positive but what a mess this organization is. It's ironic that Ted talked about how other teams would be in salary cap hell with bad contracts and now the Caps are sitting there with few good prospects, big contracts galore and a team that is unable to compete with anyone of playoff caliber.

Judging by the chatter is it safe to assume every team in this city now sucks?

Oddly enough, the Wizards are up by 20 nearing the half.  And of course the Nats are going to have a great year!  But yes, the Redskins still suck and the Caps have missed their boat...

Technically, the Wizards don't suck. Yet.

Only the Caps would take the best team this city has had in a while and completely freak up a once-in-a-generation talent in Ovechkin.

The situation is pretty uninspiring right now for sure...that said, it is December--less than halfway through the season--and as we all know, a high playoff seed means next to nothing.  Eight seeded teams have made the conference finals many times and have gone all the way to the finals at least twice that I can recall in recent years (2005 Oilers and 2010 Flyers).  None of which makes it any easier to watch crap play right now, but it is a bit early to be sticking ones head in the oven.

I was just wondering, I tend to read a little throughout the year, but only really pay attention to hockey and basketball come playoff time

Kuznetsov could open the window a like wider. I'm eager to watch him in the wjc.we also should be in a god position in this years draft

Hell of an effort by the Caps tonight, the PK was awesome. Hope they can keep this going the rest of the way.

Look Caps, I'm gonna give ya some love tonight and try to watch against Buffalo.   I'll probably switch between you and the rerun of Liverpool/NC United.   I've been trying to get back to you since '99 but I can't seem to turn on the love again.   I'm gonna give ya another chance because Hunter is a good guy.    I'm kind of familiar with your line-up.   It's sexy but looks like you're still a gum chewin' young crew.    Spit out the gum, man up and I might just give you another full time look.    Thank you.   That is all.

Salute to the NATS nation !

Isn't it hilarious that the Nats might soon be the best team in town. I actually think the Caps will turn it around at some point and reel off 7 or 8 straight wins to solidify a playoff spot. I don't think they will win a cup this season, but they are still a talented team. Maybe actually fighting for a playoff spot will toughen up this team. I guess it didn't really help them last year though.

He's going to be a beast when he gets here. I really like his playing style.

Ovechkin is really starting to warm up!  Pretty good win and one more step in the right direction under DH. It's good to see them put together two pretty good games in a row.
