my plan is to leave home at 9 AM.  With no traffic, it's normally an hour drive to the ballpark.  At that time of the morning, and with the activities, I'm expecting 90 minutes to 2 hours.  Normal route is 66/110/395/maine avenue.

My hope is that if I arrive by 11AM, i'll be able to grab a spot at The Yards.  If not, i'll try for one at one of the lots around the 7-11 and fire house a couple of blocks north.  Am I sane?

Taking a party of 12. Meeting at my house at 10:30. Rented a huge van and will park in Lot P for the first time. Will do some serious tailgating until 1ish. Go in and watch pre-game festivities. Watch Stras dominate and bring home a Curly W.

If you're tailgating until 1, you're going to miss the pre-game festivities in the park...

I don't see it, but will they be any sort of banner raising for the division championship?

Hey, that's my route!  I'll probably leave Fairfax between 9:30 and 10:00.  You must live further west if takes you an hour; normally I'm at 40 minutes or so without traffic.  I'm taking one of my employees with me and I'm making him work a half-day starting at 5:30 that morning :)  But I already gave him tomorrow off for the Yankees game, so I don't feel so bad.

I associated the "2012 National League Awards Ceremony" with player awards, but the banner raising may be a part of it.

Walk up NJ Ave (past the CVS and Courtyard by Marriott).  After going under the freeway, walk down the steps to 1st street, then follow that north to the station.  It's a 10-15 minute walk.

FP and Carp just referred to an unveiling  ...  but it looked like a sign.   I'd think they gotta have a banner as well.

I'm considering that option as well, especially if I drive Ms1995hoo to work. I plan to enter the ballpark early, but going to Gordon Biersch might be a good option for getting a few beers for a lot less than they charge at the ballpark. I assume the new GB will offer the same half-litre pours as the existing locations downtown and at Tysons. That's a good bit bigger than the ballpark pours.

Maybe they'll have a flag on top of the scoreboard?

There was a large banner up on the scoreboard, on the left edge - covered.  I'm guessing it will be revealed as opposed to raised.

I think that's the "thing" MASN showed.    FP said he could see through it.

You could definitely see through it.  It said NL East Champions.

I see the game is on WUSA9 as well as MASN, which suggests that it is being carried nationally...anyone know whether or not this is the case?

I don't think so.  WUSA has the same agreement to carry roughly 20 games per season that Channel 50 had in years past.  Nothing to do with national coverage.

Strange that both 9 & MASN are carrying the same game then.  OK, well thanks, guess I'll find out Monday.
