So the two biggest national stories about the Nats during this BREAKOUT year have been shutting down Stephen, closely followed by Teddy and his miraculous ability to finally win a faux race....really??? I mean REALLY those are the two biggest stories about this club???? What about Gio and 21 wins?!?, what about Z'mann and his comeback from TJ Surgery, I mean who remembers that Wilson Ramos was kidnapped last year and then blew out a knee, to be replaced by 4 different catchers....Teddy, I love you, but quit stealing the spotlight from the people who really deserve it. I think they'll keep the race next year but cycle through winners and not have the whole Teddy thing going. I hope someone in the marketing department realizes they've milked this all that they can and they are primed for a backlash and next year they don't need this Teddy gimmick to put butts in seats.

The classic BiL pronoucement that has zero basis in reality, with the second sentence completely contradicting the first.  It's been all over ESPN, dude, including a national feature and SportsCenter coverage.  It doesn't get more "national" than that for four big-headed stuffed presidents. Unless you can recall ESPN coverage of the the burgeoning "Power to the Pierogie" movement from the Pittsburgh race.

Glad to see Teddy win, sorry it happened in a way that was every bit as "fixed" as the previous ones.  Next year, just let 'em run.  I'm with Zim and Galah.  This team deserves a lot more coverage than it's getting.  Desmond's season is nothing short of miraculous, and he's gotten zero exposure behind Strasburgate, Hawpah, and Teddy.

I was glad to see him win, but also glad it's over with. I'm also glad I didn't have the gf's kids there at the game that day because I had a standing offer that if Teddy won while we were there, I'd give them both $20, but if he lost they had to clean up around the house.

He's the professional cheerleader that roams the front rows near the dugouts and pumps the crowd up.  He's far less annoying than Clint IMO.  I'd love to see Clint get that public stoning.
