2010 Superbowl commercials
« Topic Start: February 08, 2010, 11:26:45 AM »
I went to NFL.com and saw some I liked, but I never saw the  Betty White Snickers Commercial people were talking about.  I googled it and found it on You Tube, but also found this one:

Hilarious!

That one made me laugh.  The Betty White one was okay, but it definitely had more potential.  Most of the beer commercials this year were forgettable, though the "house made of bud" was okay.

The Audi commercial with the Eco police - I get what they were trying to do there, but to me it just felt like they were re-inforcing the "smug jerkoff" stereotype that hybrid and "green" drivers already have.  Not the best way to sell a car, imo.

I honestly can't even remember any of the other commercials.

I liked the Jim Nantz commercial where he was narrating a guy with his gf.

"How about lavender?"
"How about no."

Actually, I thought they were busting the chops of the greenies, but I take it they think their car is green, so I put that one down as a fail.

The one I liked the most was the VW commercial with everyone calling the color of the car that passed by and slapping the person next to him/ her.  When Stevie Wonder says "Red One" and slaps the guy next to him, and he says "How do you do that?" I cracked up.  The other one I am surprised I liked were the E-Trade baby series. Ordinarily, I switch away when they come up (I don't think their cute, and I don't need to see barf), but these seemed a bit funnier. The one that had him away but having his stop loss orders triggered and saving him money is one of the few where I actually remember the product that was being pushed.

The Brett Favre one was pretty awesome. 'I'm older than all the players, coaches, and even fans. Will I retire? I don't know, we'll talk about it' (paraphrased :P )

I also enjoyed the Budlight on island. Didn't really watch all the commercials though.

Right, exactly!  But I felt like they missed the mark.

My favorite part was the holographic trophy

I liked the music in that commercial more than the halftime show.

The best commercial was the Pledge Of Alliegence To The National Debt

If anyone ever listens to Carson on Mix 107.3, he always talks and lusts after a Dodge Charger.  I called him up and told him that when I saw that commercial, I instantly thought of him!  He laughed out loud!  He said the same strategy works for his Hummer.

Loved the Charger ad! Mainly because I think I am all of those guys... I own a 2006 Charger R/T and absolutely love it.

Not too good! But until this year, we only need our SUV for weather reasons maybe 3 or 4 days a year. My baby hasn't been out since Thursday last week.
