Wow Werth absolutely crushed that ball. 2-3 tonight. Unfortunately he K'd at the most inopportune time.

He will ignore this comment.  Either that or Reed's Johnson is so big that a pitch just off the outside corner is really an inside pitch to him.

I wonder what it's like to go through life with a vision distorted by one's prejudices.

There is something fundamentally wrong with this team.  This team has been embarrassed by Rodrigo Lopez.  This team (the line is) hope to be competitive sometime soon (always two years away) presumably with many of these players.  The problem is those players, whoever they are, put up performances like this against pitchers like Rodrigo Lopez.

How can you possibly expect to be competitive (always two years away) when you can be this bad against Rodrigo Lopez?

We really should have nailed this guy tonight.  Instead, he exits in line for a W.

It would've been inside if he had been batting from the left side tomterp. Or perhaps he meant "why don't they keep pitching him inside?". Pay attention.

Good points, I should pay more attention.

And a nicely hit HR by Werth. Such an easy swing, such good wrist snap.

Exactly. It's too late now because the Cubs actually have good pitcher to use now.

Yes, but for 126 million dollars he should've hit the roof of the apartment complex across the street and on the catch to end the previous half inning, he should have been camped under the ball, handed out 100 dollar bills to everyone in the bleachers before making the catch look routine.

I mean, what did we pay for here?

That's generally the rule with Detwiler. The decent outings are the rare exceptions.
Detwiller is looking more like a future middle reliever than starting material.
