Yeah he is starting to nibble.  But does anyone else think a lot of the umps have a tighter strike zone this year than past years.  It is a trend I have been noticing in nearly every MLB game I have watched this year.

yeah.  and not just in nats games (although we're always on the wrong end of the calls it seems like).

i know MLB is filming every pitch with an overhead camera so the league office can review umps work.

Yeah, that crowd seems pathetic for a saturday day game.  Though, I have noticed that a good portion of the people that come to day games do not arrive until around 3rd-4th inning.
Really?  My experience is that they generally get their on time for weekend games, both day and night.  It's the weekday games where I notice late arrivals - the yuppies have to get off work.

I think lot of people are going to caps tonight / doing dc stuff.

Tomorrow should be a pretty good crowd.

I don't know, maybe it is just my experience.  But, I usually get to games as soon as the gates open to watch all the players warm up and hopefully some BP.  It always seems like the place seems completely empty until a few innings pass, then it is just almost empty.

Excellent

It is always great when one of our hitters can make the pitcher throw 7 or more pitches (more than a full count).  Willingham got 8.

Ugh, I don't like taking the bat out of Desmond's hands there.  He has to have as many real at bats as he can get.  Bunting with a guy on first and nobody out isn't advantageous in any event.

How do you know it wasn't his call?

Why is Desmond bunting on a 2-0 count? You have the advantage. He has to learn that before he becomes a good hitter.

Agreed.  I have a feeling "small ball" is going to be a staple on this club all year. :?

I have no idea whose call it was.  I disagree with whoever made it, be it him or a coach/Riggs.

Ah, gotcha.  Your wording made me think you thought it was called for.

JMax crushed that ball.

Are those seats out there padded? What section is that?
