Hi guys...I'm in a hotel room in Harrisburg, just got back from watching the Senators playing New Britain.  I see our Nats haven't improved tonight eh?   :?

If I wasn't a Redskins fan, I'd be outraged. As it is, I've seen  a team with a fantastic payroll perform terribly, too. That hurts even more.

Sutton's a good analyst.  Capuano had a 3-1 strike-ball ratio.  Young K's, Schneider flies out.

GAME OVER!  2 hours, 5 minutes...
An excellent game by Chico with, once again, ZERO offense.

That's disgusting!  I draw the line at eyeballs flying out.

Nats now 0-6 in May.  They have lost those 6 games by an average of 2.5 runs per game.  Young needs to be benched permanently.  Lopez has been awful lately and Schneider needs to sit against LH starters.

Agree, but who's better offensively that can field at first? Can Belliard play first?

Not sure but Young has to go. If Belliard can play 1st, I'd put him there in a heart beat.  If not, then I'd start Fick.

You want first basemen to be tall and left-handed.  Belliard is 5' 8" and right-handed.

Call Broadway up and give him a chance.  Can't be any worse than fat boy Dmitri did swinging at those last 2 pitches in the dirt.

Hell, put Nick in.  He couldn't do any worse, either, even with one leg.

I think just about anyone can play 1B. I know you have to scoop and stretch for balls but for the most part, the requirements to play 1B aren't very difficult.

I know Manny wont put Ronnie @ first though, so it's not even worth talking about.

Steve Garvey was smaller than that and he was right handed.

Young is 6' 2" and throws right.  That's a 6-inch reach advantage over Belliard, and I don't know if Belliard has ever even played the position.  Nick Johnson is 6' 3 " and left-handed (which gives a better reach than a righty, for some of those throws.)  Belliard is mostly a singles hitter, and he finally gives us an effective bench player.  (The Brewers have somebody on the bench hitting .346.)  That's going to turn one of our no-offense losses into a win soon.  Flores is hitting .280 and should be getting a lot more play too.  Do you think the Yankees want to bench Posada?
