The point still stands - the Heat would have signed 2-3 good-great-elite players that summer, or have traded for Deron/Howard/CP3/someone because they had the assets (picks, expiring contracts, cap space) to make it happen.
Yeah they definitely made a great call on getting LeBron and Bosh. I'm just arguing that NBA is so predictable because there isn't any parity. There are Amazing teams (the top 4 seeds in both conferences), the just made it teams (the 5-8 seeds that probably won't go anywhere), and then the rest (the teams that suck year after year).
