I love watching games outside on my porch.  First owl of 2014 hooting about 100 yards away.

So he's out in Eastern Oakton?

You're starting to sound like barvesfan882.

Despite what I said earlier, their pitching generally just isn't scary.  They're beatable.

I'm not scared of anything on the Giants roster either. They are just a quality franchise that often goes on runs and pulls wins out of their ass. Teams like them and the Cards are scarier to me than a team like the Pirates.

We have a few regular owls here, very nice. They come close to the house during the summer.

I figured 100 yards from your place would put him in Eastern Oakton...no?

He is....

Kev, you've got the big part of the stream valley there.  We've got a couple of tribs here that are about 3' wide each, a nice wooded stretch but not big enough to hold a population.  Just the occasional transient.  That one I heard has already moved on.

Last spring I was fishing on the Pocomoke and a barred owl dive bombed my fishing buddy's Pop-R. That owl REALLY wanted that topwater bait.  Good thing we saw the situation developing and my friend jerked the bait away before he got there.   :phew:

Nah...just geographically challenged...

Oakton is a fairly large space but lightly populated in much of it, by comparison to say Fairfax, Reston, Chantilly, etc.

It's like FP Santangelo says, there's no easy route in the postseason.

The bottom line is we can beat either of these teams in the NLDS...it'll be a tough series but our pitching is pretty sweet and we have home field.

Nothing of these 2 teams scares me, other then travel and start times.

But feeling it's going to be a quick series

"Only grand slam by a shortstop in postseason history".

Until Friday I hope.

Crawford's hair is so greasy it looks like he puts it between paper towels to drain, like just cooked bacon.

True.  Jamming McMansions everywhere they can.  Why do people buy 6,000 sq foot houses with 6 bedrooms for a family of 3?

I'm sure the talking heads in DC will be fretting about the Giants if this score holds, talking about how they blew out the Pirates and have the "Nats killer" aka Hudson in their rotation. 12 hours ago they were worried about the Pirates momentum.
