Lockpicking is cake. That video breaks it down fine, but the system was pretty easier to figure out.
The system is infinitely better than Oblivion. The lockpick system in Oblivion was infuriating.

The relative scarcity of spells in Skyrim forces you to be at least somewhat more rounded. Granted I haven't been to Winterhold yet as I've sort of been slowly expanding outward on the map, but I have yet to see any unlock spells.
