Jon "The Wookie" Rauch gets them out with no runs scored.

Mister Soriano - time for a homer, please!

The Wookie was the winning pitcher and is now 2-1.
Check out Page 2 of this Game Thread:
HOW MANY BATS did I put up,
as Soriano approached the plate to begin the 8th inning?
COUNT THEM! THREE BATS, THREE RUNS SCORED!
TO TAKE THE LEAD AND WIN THE GAME!

Now let's win this SERIES tommorrow!
We have passed Atlanta in the standings![/color]

i've been lurking and reading this board, but i just HAD to finally log in and contribute.  we were AT the game today, and it was just so incredible.  when Soriano stole second, then stole third, and THEN went home on the catcher's bad throw.....wow just wow!

actually we were stuck in the midst of a bunch of Yankee fans.  no problem, last year we were in the midst of a nest of Cardinals.  it's all good.  but these people were unbelievable rude and nasty.  did have a little fun with one behind me who evidently knows nothing about baseball....her quick retort to our cheers for the Nats in the 9th was "oh yeah, how many World Series titles have the Nats won? just tell me that, why don't you?"  my response, well uh, none.....it's their SECOND year!!!!!!   that shut her up pretty quick.

Fricking unbelievable.

Went to the pool this afternoon and had my walkman with me.  Promptly shut it off when I got out and heard the grand slam to make it 9-2, NY.  Got back home and it was 9-6, so I thought, "Well, it's not over."  Heard the rest of the awesome comeback in the car on the way to dinner.  Slowes was going nuts!

Eat it, CHOKees.  You're not fricking invincible, and neither is Rivera.

Nice to see your negative posts disappear, Chief.
