Madden '12

Is it any good? I haven't bought Madden in years. Toying with the idea of picking it up.

GAME OVER. WE LOSE.

It was the lousy performance of the National Anthem - that's what did them in.

A loss is a loss. Who gives a crap? The team isn't going to fold and give up on Davey. We'll still be slightly below .500. The sky is not falling.

so you're saying there is no such thing as bad losses?

I'm a sucker for those games but this one is actually pretty cool.

Since there's no such thing as a good loss, then to call some losses bad is redundant.  Every loss is, by definition, bad.

if his isn't a bad loss then what is a bad loss?  I don't get the pushback here.

Mark my words, this loss will cost Jordan Zimmermann the Cy Young Award.

Just wait and see... he won't get it now.

Blame the earthquake: Always a good excuse.

Nats can't hit after an earthquake. It's a well doctored fact

For me there are no-adjective losses and bad losses.  And yes, every loss is bad but a bad loss is an extra level of bad.  This loss was an extra level of bad.

werth D2D with a hip strain per Davey.  Ugh, just when he's starting to hit.

Good thing we've got him with a full no-trade for another six years.  :P

July 16, 2010. The Great Gaithersburg Quake. The Nationals won 4-0.

But that was only because:

a. Strasburg was pitching.  Not playing in MLB now.
b. Willingham drove in 3 runs and then scored the 4th run in the sixth inning.  He's not with the team now.

July 16, 2010 - The Great Gaithersburg Quake. 3.8

I was at the game tonight... it was good at first but it was pretty frustrating to watch the Nats strike out over and over again with runners on base.

Can't win 'em all, get 'em next time, et cetera.

I was there last night and had a good time.  It was frustrating like Sharp said to see them fail to score despite all the opportunities they had.

JZ has been a revelation this year and he should get some league-wide recognition as an ace.  He's probably a top-20 starter in the baseball.

Desmond and Werth had a couple of hits each, I believe.  Weird.  The failed JZ bunt and Ramos GIDP were killers and Werth had another critical K.  Morse has also cooled down a bit, it seems.

A split this series would be on the low end of my expectations but still within the acceptable range.  With Arizona scuffling, I'd hope we could take the next two.

Hey the Marlins and Mutts also lost last night.  So did the Cards and Giants.  But the Reds are now a half game ahead of us in the NL standings.

The only thing more tiresome than the whining of people like PC and SF is the whining about the whining from a larger contingent on here.

No.  Even more tiresome, are people whining about those who whine about the whiners.

No, worst loss in any franchise's history.  Ever.

Even the 1899 Cleveland Spiders (20-134)?

I hate losses where we give away leads, personally. A loss where we have opportunities but don't take advantage is just baseball. The timely hits will come next time. Either way, a loss is a loss. This one isn't going to affect our team more than any other loss this month.

Any major differences between it and Madden '11?  I've found Madden '11 to be the best version of the game since 2002.

Some of the gameplay is a little better but the biggest change is the GameFlow now allows some choice.  It being a demo it's pretty limited for a full comparison but from what I've seen it seems like a slight upgrade over Madden '11.
