good finish by Bergmann. He was garbage and I mean GARBAGE at times but it's another quality start.

Nice job by Bergmann that inning, striking out the side.

Too bad it doesn't matter.  We can't score three runs to win this game.

I could care less if we win or not.  I am more concerned with how the guys that actually will be here next year are playing (i.e. Bergmann, Zimmerman, Milledge).

You think Bergmann is going to be in the rotation next year?  :)

I don't know who we'd get to fill his place. The team's said as much, that they consider him a part of the future.

I mean next year, we'll have Lannan, Redding, Balester, and who else if not Bergmann, at least to start the year? Clippard can't get his mechanics straight, Zimmermann probably needs some seasoning at AAA (it appears he's gonna finish the year at Harrisburg) and we might need Mock out of the bullpen.

We scored 15 runs last Sunday. In the 6 following games we have scored 9 runs.

I agree that Manny sucks this year, but I just cringe at the idea of some of these other managers out there.

For instance, this is a statement from manager John Russell of the Pittsburgh Pirates who was hired before this season:

http://www.firejoemorgan.com/2008/07/pepperidge-farm-cookie-ad-old-guy-voice.html

The guy doesn't even know how much run support his own pitchers get. >:( :-[ At least Acta is usually aware of that kind of thing.

You don't think he will be?  Regardless if I  or you or any other fan thinks he shouldn't be, he will be.

What does it matter if we win anyway?  Maybe it could be like last season and we will sign a couple players that do well in the final weeks like Dmitri Young?  Maybe we will play ourselves into the Ninth draft spot again.  When you have half the actual team on the DL and you are 11.5 games out of FOURTH place in your DIVISION, then I think winning becomes somewhat of a moot point.

LMAO. Milledge is a fool. If he's a long-term starting OFer here I'll be surprised.

We love watching first pitch strikes down the pipe and then swinging at balls the rest of the AB. Lenny Harris blows. Lenny Harris blows. Lenny Harris blows.

We can still get the first pick in the draft and NOT lose every game!  We can actually try and still be the worst team in baseball.

Can we trade Lenny Harris too? It really doesn't make sense why he is still here. On any other team he'd be LONG gone. Bowden's quote earlier in the season that "Harris is part of the solution, not the problem" couldn't be further from the truth.

Well, that quote's not too surprising since Bowden himself is part of the problem, if the THE problem.

And I go back to what I originally said, I dont CARE if we win or lose, it doesn't make a difference, I will still view the team just the same... as a horrible team.  I still want to see guys giving a hustle out there and trying their hardest, but as a fan I am not going to get hung up on winning, when A.) we are likely to lose anyway and B.) nothing will change standings wise for the rest of the season.  We will be lucky if we win 11.5 games the rest of the season, much less catch up to the Braves.

Lenny Harris is NOT putting our hitters in the position to succeed. Carpenter and Knight need to STFU.

Once again the MASN announcers are coming off like news broadcasters for the Soviet Union. Every game we seem to get all these shots of Lenny Harris and hear all the comments about how great of a guy he is and how he was a great pinch hitter. (Even though the same announcers don't have any problem criticizing every batters' approach and lack of plate discipline.) I've never seen any other baseball game broadcasts with so much attention given to a hitting coach. The organization has to know that Harris is a joke and is forcing Bob, Don, and Ray to publicly kiss Harris's ass every game.
