Yeah, I hate no baseball but it was probably the right call. Up I-95, the AngelO's kept saying they'd play tonight and the 7:05 start got delayed to 7:40. So they prepped the field, the pitchers warmed up, and then the tarp went back on 7:40 with the game being called at 7:55. They said the managers were mad, and I'm sure the fans who came out were pissed too. Good job by the Nats in being proactive today.
I know that's standard practice and it makes sense, but is it required? The Mets have two consecutive days off before their home opener this Friday and they play again Saturday. The Phillies have their home opener next Monday with no day off afterwards. The weather is more likely to be bad this time of year in those cities.
I disagree, different situations. The Nats cancelled based on the cold, the Os based on rain. No way the Nats should have cancelled today, pure greed move, not enough potential concession sales for them to open up the park.
Games get cancelled cuz it's cold now?
Cold, high wind, and nagging drizzle. Makes for bad baseball. Game cancelled to avoid selling an inferior product.
Unless you have a roof, it's required
Yep. I don't think any of the fans who had tickets yesterday are unhappy;
Back to trolling I see.
Still chilly today but at least its sunny with not too much wind. Heading to the park soon.

Is tonites game going to happen vs the Mets?
Most peculiar ... standing on my deck and the dark stormish lookin' clouds were to the SE (toward DC) and partly cloudy skies were to the NW (toward Leesburg). Almost like the storm clouds stopped at the western Fairfax CO line.
It was pouring in Reston when I got on Metro to go home. At Spring Hill now and no precip. There's a big cell moving down 95 from Baltimore to DC, probably arriving in the next hour or so. This reinforces the notion that nothing good ever comes from Baltimore.
Per weather.com: 82 at first pitch topping off at 85 by 16.00 this afternoon; no chance of precip, very light winds - looks like our first honest-to-goodness summer baseball afternoon is on the way today.
