The former free agent, Derek Lowe beat Johan Santana tonight.  Not that that's related to anything.

RZ and Longoria are in a class of their own. No one else playing 3B is even in the discussion.

RZ should win the gold glove and be the starting 3B in the All Star Game if he keeps this up.

There's a reason why he's been in the bigs this long. He's not great, but he'll usually get the job done.

Guys like that are perfect for this team. Knock on Wood he keeps it up. I dont want pitchers that try to hard, just get contact outs.

As much as I like Zimm. I think I might take Longoria over him. Kid is unreal.

and former free agent, Jon Garland gave up 10 hits and 7 earned runs in 3.2 IP against the Reds tonight.

And he is getting paid $6,250,000.

Nice. Dunn rarely did that in past seasons.

that's understandable considering the numbers Longoria is putting up this year. but still RZ is a very close 2nd.

We need an extra base hit here.

Yea RIGHT NOW, id choose Longoria over Zimmerman. If Zimmy continues this for the rest of the year and makes it a norm, he could be the best third baseman. Contact is always beautiful for where he bats.

And I'd rather have him then Daniel Cabrera.

true, but he costs $4 million more and he's not a whole lot better.

we are so unbelievably fortunate that Zimmerman signed earlier in the season, and not after this season... or else he would've got what he rightfully deserves...Wright Money.
He never proved he was worthy of Wright money so he did NOT deserve it.  Had he hit like this more in his first three seasons, that would be a different story.  Granted, he's never had on-base machines both in front and behind him like he does now.
