Redding pitched well his last time out, tossing six innings and giving up two
runs on four hits against the Braves. But he ended up with no decision. Braves
first baseman Mark Teixeira scored the first run of the game in the second
inning, when Mark Kotsay grounded out into a force play. But Washington
came back and took the lead in the bottom of the third inning, when Zimmerman
and Johnson hit back-to-back home runs. Atlanta tied the score, however,
when Chipper Jones hit a solo home run off Redding in the top of the sixth
inning.

After giving up a season-high five walks in his last start, Snell was visibly
irritated with himself for not bearing down and pitching like he knows he is
capable. Between rushing himself in between pitches and concentrating
too hard on locating rather than just throwing to his strengths, Snell struggled
with his command throughout much of April. Despite having made five
appearances (three starts) against the Nationals before, Snell still has not
registered a win or loss against the D.C. team. He has given up 10 earned
runs in 23 innings, while striking out 22 and walking 11.

Manny better use him as a PHer or a defensive replacement to keep his streak going.

Why is Mackowiak starting over Harris in LF?

Who gives a crap about a streak unless it's in your pants?

The guy needs and deserves a break. Let him take the next two days to get his head on straight and get back to the plate strong.

Dukes will be coming back soon and Manny needs to chose between Mack or Harris.  I think he's giving Mack a fair shot. He hit a key leadoff double last week and came around to score the tying run. lets see what happens

his "streak" = meaningless imo.

we don't need him to try and be Cal Ripken. there's only one of him.

let him have the day off.

sort of concerns me that r.z. asked for the day off. must mean the slump is really taking a toll on him.  :?

meanwhile, dukes is leading off and playing center in what i hope will be his last game with the clippers. he led-off the game with a walk. his plate patience is remarkable.

Oh, oh, it must be because Zimmerman is so concerned about how much money he is going to make in the coming years.

Yeah, that Dukes. It takes a lot to keep the bat on your shoulder and watch the ball go flying by. Truly, a complete specimen of electrifying, athletic, beastly, man-lovism.

Kearns has a different batting stance now. Anyone else notice that?
