Of course they have not been able to field as righty heavy a lineup as today very often with FotF on the DL for 60 games then Hairston getting hurt.

PC is going to have a stroke. Classy that they did the right thing and let him fully rehab before the DFA.

Couldn't he have rehabbed on MLBs dime if he was DFAd beforehand?

So, Espinosa (our RBI leader) is gonna be batting with no runners on.  Brilliant!!

I guess he was making Werth look bad and thus contributing to his slump.

Somehow I think this GDT deserves the immortal words of Mayor-for-Life Marion Barry...

wow the Stros traded Keppinger to the Giants and Houston called up their stud prospect Jose Altuve who is really small but can really play.

Jose Altuve might not be ready, but he's also a career .327/.386/.481 hitter in 1600+ minor league PA. That is NOT a fluke.

He'll wreak havoc on the Nats won't he

He's listed as 5' 7", 170 lbs

i highly doubt he is in line-up tonight.

he's going to have some trouble though.  major league pitching is night and day better than minor league pitching.

Houston doesn't have stud prospects.
That said, he is coming straight up from a .360 stint in AA. But seriously: 6 weeks ago he was in A ball and now he's in the bigs. What does that say about Houston's farm system?

Big enough to be strong, small enough to have a short strike zone. And he's probably fast as hell.

Hope JZ isn't rusty tonight from not pitching in so long because of the Nats' stupid rules.
