No decision on possible DL until after Zimmerman tries to hit tomorrow but MRI gave him peace of mind &he knows he can't hurt it more. #nats

Technically and semantically, if it's a torn labrum, you "can't hurt it more," because it's already torn.   ;)

I am very amused by those who refuse to accept good news. God, I love this board.

and your more sensible answer for the occasional 24 man roster is?

It's no big deal not to have a 25th man for a few games. If they don't have someone who is ready or can help them, why bother.

How many times do they call someone up for a few days who sees no or little action.

It's not the big conspiracy that my paranoid/schizo friend linty thinks it is.

  • The Lerners are Cheap AND Crooked
i can't wait for tonight when we're in a 0-0 game or up 1-0 and bases loaded and need a pinch hitter and the PH doesn't get the job done and SF complains, "we should've used zimmerman!!!"

That actually sounds like some crap you would say.

Yep. That that applies to me too. My jokes and theirs are all in fun and tongue in cheek but are indicator of what's below.

Who said "Many a truth is told in jest?"

Chaucer.  Shakespeare used a variation of it as well.

Aren't they all? Comedy, like rock music, is "derivative."

There's a difference between being "derivative" and flat out joke stealing.  Most comics are the former, Denis Leary and Robin Williams are the latter.

Don't forget Dane Cook.

Robin Williams has an undeniably hilariously funny shtick onstage, and I sometimes sincerely believe he's improvising more or less his entire routine. I'd suspect a lot of the jokes he steals are because he's so addled or loony that he really has absolutely no idea where he's heard the joke before or whether he wrote it or not. They just pop in his head suddenly and, Robin Williams being Robin Williams, he says it without thinking.

My own nominee for funniest person alive is Fred Willard.
