Watchmen
« Topic Start: July 29, 2009, 08:27:07 PM »
Purchased the Director's Cut on DVD and watched it Sunday evening. I have to say that was definately the best superhero movie made thus far. An absolutely fantastic movie. I might have to read the graphic novel now. Anyways...I highly recommend watching the movie if you haven't already.

book is worth it, while your at it give V for Vendetta a shot, the movie sucked, but if you like Alan Moore, the book is worth a read.

I'll give it a try HS. I actually liked the V for Vendetta movie though.

I have it, but I haven't found the time to watch it yet. That is one long movie.

It is, but it seemed to go by fast because it was so interesting.

I found it to be the complete opposite. I found it boring as all hell and couldn't wait for it to finish. Visually it was fantastic, but Watchmen was boring-- just like the comic.

I know Watchmen is known as one of the greatest comics of all time, but I never really liked it which is surprising because I love Alan Moore's work.

I saw it in theaters twice and loved it.  Never read the comics, so I'm not burdened by that dilemma.

Don't we already have a thread about this movie?

holy hell solid movie.  not one of my all-time top 25 or anything, but it lived up to my expectations.
i don't get the end with the newspaper guy and the slob picking up rosarch's journal?  what was that about?  thanks
Basically it is saying the massive plot to kill 15 million people to save the rest of the planet is possibly about to be exposed and the crap is going to hit the fan.

I havent seen it yet but its better than Dark Knight? I though that was pretty well delivered for its anticipation.

IMO, no. Dark Knight had everything going for it. Watchmen is more for the hardcore comic book crowds.

if you actually liked the movie then don't read the comic- i was a big fan of it and thought the movie was awful--- my analogy was that zack snyder adopted the comic in the way a 16 year old 'nerd' would

I enjoyed it.

Nowhere near as good as TDK, but it was one of the better super hero movies IMO.

Same, never read the comics but saw it twice. I appreciated it more after I saw it and when I saw it again.

I liked the movie overall, it had one of the greatest opening title sequences ever. However, I found it pretty long and boring at some points. Anyway, what did u think?
