have you tried stubhub?

the box office should never be a place to buy tickets.

either the game is sold out or close to it and the only place to get tickets is on something like stubhub, maybe at an inflated price. but you gotta do what you gotta do.

or the game is not sold out and somebody somewhere will definitely need to get rid of tickets (in almost all price levels). now a buyer has two choices, ticketmaster or secondary market. in order for a seller to sell a ticket he must sell it cheaper than the box office, unless he finds a stupid buyer. thus for non sell outs, stubhub will be cheaper.

the team should lower their prices accordingly if tickets arent sold, but they dont because they might not want to piss of STH or because some people dont look at stubhub and default to the team site/box office where they pay a higher price than they need to because they are not informed.

Mostly true.  Except when buying tickets far ahead of time when the only tickets listed for sale are over-priced, in which case buying tickets using the STH discount along with no service charge is often the best deal available.

BUMPETY BUMP BUMP BUMP

Has anyone ever sat in Section 206-221? The 1st and 3rd Base Club? If so, opinions?

My season seats are in 207, prime for watching Zimm's defensive maneouvers.

Some rows are under the overhang which makes them prime for inclement weather.  Of course you have access to the club, which is good again in bad weather, too hot or too cold, but the concessions are subpar.  Bathroom lines are shorter than other places.

I'd take the 300 level for $20 over the 200s for $60, but Club access is a real nice perk.

1st and 3rd base club are cheaper.  Mine are $37.50 factoring in full season discount and early renew, but NOT averaging in 50% free seats via RCR.

How's that?  1st and 3rd Club tickets are $45 for the full season plan, the early renewal was only a 5% discount.

Gonna be a sad day when stadiums and arenas around the world implement paperless ticketing and scalpers are out of jobs. It's coming.

Why would that be so bad ?

What makes you think we'll end up with virtual scalping, as another form of spamming ?

Upon further review and sobriety, you are correct.  That'll teach me to mindfact things.  $42.75 after discount.

scalpers exist because people actually buy from them. they fill a niche similar to stubhub. cheap tix for non sellouts. one place to go when there is a sellout. they dont magically sell tickets at high prices all the time.

i dont get why they are so villified. when 100k people want to go to a game with 40k seats available. someone somewhere will be selling tickets at a higher than box office price. if scalpers magically went away "real fans" will  not be guaranteed cheap tickets to the world series

Mostly it's the people from Communist Maryland who oppose free enterprise, Virginians have no problem with the scalpers making a profit by taking the risks of buying and selling tickets.
