Should be fun to watch Montz/Martis work together tonight and see how they handle their first taste of the Majors.

Pretty cool to have a 21-year-old on the mound for us tonight. I'll at least catch the first few innings before the football game starts.

I believe this is what the "back" button on remotes was invented for.  Too bad nobody does picture-in-picture anymore.  Or split screen...  with modern widescreen TVs that would be even better.

Can anyone craft a life sized cardboard stand up of me by 6pm? I stupidly said I would play Fall Ball on Thursday nights!

Sit on your duff and watch sports or get out and play?

Should be a no-brainer.  I love watching the Nats, but if I had the opportunity to go out and play?  freak watching.

Now I need to head over to the "Off Topic" sub forum.....

I'd never seen the details of Martis' no-hitter before ... it's pretty weird: seven innings (WBC has a mercy rule), one walk, only 65 pitches. But ... no strikeouts!

Nice to see a starter who's closer to my own age. :D

Giants are 4.5 point favorites at this point. Redskins will win by 10. I can feel it.

I can't. And no one else does either. The line is rapidly climbing meaning that people are laying tons of dough on the Giants.

How can we expect a team that looked so poor over the last 2 weeks to just turn a switch on and beat the defending Champs on the road? Definitely not easy.

Never judge a team by preseason play. I wasn't any more hopeful after the first three games. Why lose hope after the last two? I'm not expecting a great season, but I don't think the Giants are very good, either. Definitely beatable.

Beatable, yes, and, well, you know the saying "any given sunday."

i just dont see it happening. on espn they mentioned the "developing" campbell. WHAT?! He's like 26/27. Come on. This is his 4th year, forget developing.

It's a new system. He's had to learn so many new systems in his 4 years that it's almost impossible for him to fully develop and turn into the player that he can be. Even if he struggles this year, it's still too early to give up on him. If under the same offense/system next year he sucks then we could probably pull the plug on him as our franchise QB.

An example I like to use is Big Ben. Before this past year he lost his HC and his OC and his QB coach. All 3 were replaced, 2 by outside hire. Arians (OC) brought in a new playbook and a new system.

The result? 32 TDs and a pro-bowl selection. I don't buy all the new system crap. I can understand how it would make it harder on a QB, but are bad throws the result of a new system? are poor reads the result of a new system? a new OC (esp. saunders last year) can be tough on a QB but campbells been in the league long enough where he should be comfortable with most of the playbook by now

I give Campbell this whole year to prove to me and the nfl that hes a franchise QB

i still dont agree with the skins trading up and drafting him at #25 (i think) in 05. doesnt make any sense considering he probably couldve been there with their 2nd round pick

I'll watch Martis pitch during the football game's commercial breaks. Hopefully I can catch a Montz AB or two as well.

this is a HUGE and extremely SIGNIFICANT series in our quest to get out of the cellar. currently 6 games back of the Braves.

Martis is going to become the new Curacao sensation like Jurrjens.

Get DirecTV with DVR.  It's actually cheaper than digital cable with HD and DVR service (at least here in NY).

I'll watch both simultaneously. Having multiple TVs in the same room rocks.  :worship:
