You'll get no argument that the B1G is superior to the ACC in football although overrated otherwise, but when it comes to bball, ACC top to bottom is superior in hoops. Wake, GTech and NCState have been down recently but they are programs that I fully expect to rebound.
Sorry, not right now it's not.  Maybe it will be next year when Pitt and Syracuse are in the mix, but right now, the Big Ten is better.

This is pretty pointless if we're only discussing two years.

Well, the statement was that Maryland would eventually dominate the Big Ten.  I'm just saying I don't see that happening.  Maryland's not walking into a league that was the stodgy league it was 5 or 10 years ago.  They'll likely be competitive, maybe even very competitive, but no one's really dominated that league for an extended period of time in a long time.  That's really what I was trying to say.

as a guy who grew up in the ACC but has much respect for B1G ... B1G is the better conference.  obviously in football, but recently basketball too.

Well I never agreed with the original post about Maryland dominating the Big 10. I only replied because of all the little digs at the ACC.

B1G basketball is awfully boring to watch, though.

it's some people's cup of tea, others not so much.

traditionally, it's a slow, physical, fundamental style of play.  but with coaching carousels, style of teams have changed.

IU can run with anyone, Michigan State can adapt to any style, etc.

Historically, yes, but I've personally found it a lot of fun to watch this year.

...and when Michigan gets rolling, there aren't many that can run with them.  They don't play a ton of defense, though.

Purdue want's to run a lot more.  Iowa plays fast (they're going to be really good the next couple of years), Nebraska will want to do that when the new coach gets his players in, Illinois will too.  Really, only Wisconsin and Northwestern try and slow it down like most people think of Big Ten teams doing.

UVA will be sweating on Sunday ... can't lose like that in the tourney.

DPM, good win for Nebraska last night.  Exciting game.

Still only that lone ACC championship in 1976. I'm beginning to think UVA will never win another. They seem snakebitten in the ACC Tournament. Well, with UVA eliminated, I'll root for Duke if I watch at all. Caps play tomorrow afternoon and that gets priority because I prefer hockey to basketball.

I wonder whether this expansion in July might FINALLY get the ACC to play the tournament outside North Carolina more often.

Keep dreaming. The ACC is owned by the NC schools.
