How about ERA 4.00 for the outing with posting privileges on the line until Strasburg's debut?

Might not be a long time off - he might not make another minor league start.  I heard they might give him a couple of weeks off, and then throw him June 4

Although it makes sense, the club wants to keep him in the low 100s for innings, and he will be at 40 tongiht.  You would think they would want to save some for the Bigs.

What also makes sense for that date is that it would allow Strasburg to have two home starts that homestand (Reds and Pirates) and that is a way to maximize earnings figuring that people will show up to watch him pitch. It seems that they're hoping to capitalize on this by leaving it all in mystery so that people will buy tickets to games around those dates.

Dunn shouldn't be stretching so soon after his procedure.

I've gotten used to Carpenter over the years but there are still some obvious things that annoy me about him. (Cardinals, Fly Balls...)

Another thing though: His generalization. What 'other guys' does he refer to that would miss a ball like that into the corner? I mean every 1b man isn't some terrible dumbass who would miss the ball. I just hate when he Generalizes positions as if were that good.

Glad that error didn't cost them.

If that had been D-Crab, he would've promptly given up a 2-run homer as soon as all further runs became unearned

He means the LF corner for a double, i.e., another 3B would not have even stopped the batted ball.

I bet a few people almost lost it on that fly ball with a runner on.

Oh. ok. That makes much more sense. For some reason I thought he meant the RF corner or by the ball girl saying that most Firstbase men wouldn't have caught that ball.
