Was that our stupidity cause that was clearly a catch. Should the umps have called something?

Nice, a triple play to compliment the inside the park homer.

 :-[
Need to see a steal of home and a balk to end the game also

I'm stunned at this chain of events.  How could you ANTICIPATE this?

I wonder if an inside-the-park homer and a triple play have happened in the same game, EVER?

It happened last year and Pagan hit the inside the parker.

Why didn't Morgan even run back? He just stood there even after the ball missed Castillo the first time.

He and Livo obviously didn't see the catch, or assumed it to be dropped in.

True. They were running on contact.

Somebody should have overruled the overrule and just have been wrong!  That, at least, would have made sense!

True. They were running on contact.

But, on the other hand, the play was right in front of Morgan, and why isn't the third base coach yelling at them to go back?  At least one would have been safe since the ball was overthrown.

It ended the game didn't it? It was unassisted.

Riggleman needs to call a timeout and rip into their asses.  Right in the middle of an inning!

I did not anticipate the game going this way.

Last year 8/23/2009 the Mets lost to Philadelphia 9-7.  Pagan led off the bottom of the 1st with a inside park HR.  Francoer lined into a game ending triple play(Bruntlett).

Here are some crazy facts about inside the park homers:

Ed Delahanty  of the Philadelphia Phillies hit two inside-the-park home runs (out of four home runs total) in one game against the Chicago Cubs. Ed Konetchy  did the same on August 5, 1912. Playing for the Minnesota Twins, Greg Gagne hit two inside-the-park homers in the Metrodome on October 4, 1986.

Jimmy Sheckard completed a phenomenal feat in 1901, hitting inside-the-park grand slams in consecutive games on consecutive days with the Brooklyn Superbas (later the Brooklyn Dodgers). Sheckard is the only person in Major League Baseball history to do so.
