Minty is gonna now suggest that we extend Kearns for 3 more years, based on this one hit.

Attaboy Kearns.

Kearns gets his July hit, with a week or so to go.  Great job, Austin.

JMad you and others really need to lay off of Minty.  He's a very reasonable poster most of the time, and even the viewpoints he disagrees with the majority on aren't completely unreasonable and usually make sense on some level even if they aren't popular around here.

Minty Fresh is awesome. He probably will read this secure in the knowledge that he is way cooler than his detractors.

Of course, I'm just a fan because he used to have Hobbes as his avatar, so I'm not exactly a deep thinker here.

Lets see if Clippard can get through two innings without a run here.

Edit: Guess he only got one inning today.

minty's "awesomeness" doesn't make keeping kearns just because he can play defense in the 9th inning any less of a stupid idea.

I think you missed the big picture.  We suck either way.  Dumping Kearns for nothing may be the fan-pleaser thing to do, but it's not smart.  Keep him and see if you can offload ANY part of his contract in any way possible, and if you can't, THEN you dump him.  I'm pretty sure that's the point Minty was making, and I agree.  Sorry but we suck no matter what, ditching Kearns just to make WNFF happy is not smart management.

you aren't going to be able to dump him on somebody else, Chief.

dumping Kearns to help the team and make a point is most important.

And this is why people like you don't run baseball teams in real life.

Sorry but you're wrong.  We suck.  Dumping Kearns a few weeks early improves nothing.  Even a tiny chance of offloading ANY of his salary is better than the zero chance you have if you cut him.  And cutting him will NOT improve the team seeing as he's not really playing anyway.

I'm sure it had been ZImmerman sportsfan would've said

"At least Ryan still cares and is carrying his weight/earning his keep on the team."

I noticed, but I didn't bother saying anything.  Didn't want to give SF any ammo.  Besides, at 11-2, even I won't defend a totally meaningless solo jack.  The only reason he got something to hit was BECAUSE it was 11-2.

I was waiting for him to come in here and rip Dunn for a meaningless run but I guess he's not TOTALLY dense.

There you go Burnett. Two back to back innings by the pen.

It's a start.

Oh I forgot, you know everything about baseball. I guess there's no reason to be hopefully for anything.

Ever.
