true.

I'm kind of surprised we got the punch-out on Chipper earlier by the 1B umpire.

you knew he was going to ring up Milledge in a hearbeat even though he wasn't even close to going around.

Yeah, but you don't have to go around for it to be a strike.

Milledge can be upset, but Merriweather is one of those jerk umps who tries to egg a player on more to see if he can get him to turn around.

poor bunt. ugh. way too hard.

The Nats have a pitcher named Lannan
His arm isn’t much of a cannon
He laid down a bunt
That looked like a girl,
Now get back to the mound and start fannin’

Yeah, Acta definitely needs to back up his players regardless. Certainly he should nag if the umps are mouthing off to them.

Screw these umps, Dibble is right.  Make the call and shut your mouth, even if a player is arguing with you.

I haven't seen that one. Leave it to MASN to give all of the tail to the Orioles for their commercials, while we get stuck with annoying bloggers.

Awesome! Now we've really got a poetry groove goin'. BTW, this is another instance of the profanity filter making things funnier.

I think that I shall never see
A Strasburg as lovely as a tree
But since trees cannot help in fall,
I will not mind Strasburg at all.

Remember, Acta's first ejection was when Lannan was ejected during his major league debut, in front of Lannan's whole family.  I figured those two would have a permanent bond from watching the rest of that game together.
