That would be my understanding, just keep in mind that's money you're not getting back.

Looks like, to buy post season tickets you need to renew your season tickets for next year.

"If you purchase 2012 postseason tickets through your current status as a Season Ticket Holder, but choose not to renew your current season tickets, you do not qualify to purchase any additional 2012 postseason tickets. If the Nationals determine that you have not renewed your current season tickets, but have purchased 2012 postseason tickets, the Nationals reserve the right to cancel the 2012 postseason tickets purchased through this offer immediately and/or prohibit you from purchasing postseason tickets in 2013 or any future seasons."

One way or another, my money is gonna be lining the Lerner's pockets. Might as well have a lot of fun doing it.

Sure, I'm just not a big fan of giving people interest free loans in the thousands of dollars range.

Oh, trust me, I know, and agree. I think it's crappy, but I'd prefer this craptiness over paying for 110+ losses.

So, if I have 2 seats, does this mean I can buy my 2 seats for the postseason, and if I renew by August 31 for 2013, I can also buy 2 additional postseason?

Yes.

Does anyone know what the cost of a strip of post season tickets cost?

InField galley.  I mean just an estimate?  Its not going to be the Cost of current ticket.  MLB CHARGES MORE THAN THAT!

Does this quote below mean that if they don't make the playoffs or lose quickly that the money is locked up and has to be spent in 2013 tickets?

Quote from: 2012 Postseason Ticket Priority
NO REFUNDS, EXCHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ANY POSTESEASON TICKET PURCHASE, BUT THE VALUE OF TICKETS TO POSTSEASON GAMES THAT DO NOT TAKE PLACE WILL BE USED TOWARDS THE PURCHASE OR RENEWAL OF 2013 SEASON TICKETS ONLY.

This is expensive!  I currently have a single cheap partial season ticket package -- $10 per game for 1 seat in 405, $230 for the season.  I do exchanges on that 1 seat, plus my RCR points, to make 11 sets of 3 tix for my family of 3.

For the postseason, I have the right to buy 1 seat for all the playoff games based on my single season ticket package this year.  That will cost $780.  If we renew for next year by 8/31, we have the right to purchase 2 more sets of postseason tix.  So, the total cost for the 3 of us to go to the playoffs will be $2340.  If we lose in the first round, or don't make the playoffs, no refunds wil be given, and the amount is just credited to the next season's season ticket package (and from the fine print it appears only the next season, not subsequent seasons).  So, to protect against the possibility of being out $2340, we'd have to buy $2340 worth of season tix for next year, which is 10x what we spent this year.

I expected they would waste no time trying to squeeze the profit from being good, and I know my specific situation is exascerbated by the cheapness of my regular season plan, but it still somehow seems pretty ridiculous.  Most likely, we will have to forego buying the postseason "strip" and just hope to get to a couple of games via Stubhub.

Lovely. The site borked and the post season strip is no longer in "My Nationals Tickets" "ToDo" list. :?

Stub hub, pay more, but you don't have to buy non-existent games

Same problem here, but it came back when I logged off my account, closed all the windows in my browser, and signed on again using the link in the email.  Painful.

It came back. I am not sure if it timed out or if it was because I logged out and logged back in but I cannot imagine they did anything this late at night.

Okay, here's a question for everyone (and I will ask my ticket rep as well, but just wanted to see if anyone on here knows the answer).

Here is the screen I get when I click on the link to purchase postseason tix.  My 2 partial-plan tickets are in 222 M, so 226 P is definitely a downgrade.  Not a huge deal.  The price listed is $370 each, plus a $20 fee, for a total of $760.  But looking at the fine print below, that doesn't include any WS games, as it says they will charge the amount above ($760) now, and then any balance for the WS on October 10.  It's not very clear, but it appears that $760 is only part of the total postseason cost.  If that's true, then yikes, I don't know how I can afford the whole package...

Their wording is sooo unclear and some pages contradict each other.  It looks like they used templates for mutliple uses (renewals, new tickets, post season) and did a really poor job sorting them out.  I'm sure the reps are going to have a ton of emails Monday morning...probably won't hear back for a couple of weeks!

That's what I'm afraid of.  Would it be too hard to somehow specify the per-game price for the postseason tickets?  Other teams manage to do that.

There's a dollar figure next to each ticket in my plant for post-season tickets ($502 per seat in section 309).  How many games does that amount cover?  I can't find that information provided anywhere.

It looks like they're planning on a one-game playoff, a wild card game, 3 games in the division series, 4 games in the LCS, and then 4 WS games for a total of 13 games, which would be the maximum number possible.  http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/was/ticketing/2013season.jsp?tab=renew

Like I said, my screen showed $370 per seat in 222, but the wording made it sound like that that figure might not include the WS games.  I'm going to see if I can get a good answer to this.
