I can understand that, but I seriously think it's his before the at-bat ritual. It could be 35 degrees outside and I think he'd still do it.
Those latin players are very superstitious(no don imus)...................

The 16-year minor leaguer is at-bat again.

I'm usually REALLY patient, but I just don't see an advantage in a pitcher prolonging an inning in any way.

Batista exemplifies oddness. Everything he does is unorthodox.

You think Cabrera is, huh? I think a lot of people believe that. I don't. He's too pudgy. Hanley definitely isn't either. Uggla looks like a shorter Schneider w/ the boxer-faced look. I think that type of face makes people jump to the steroid conclusion a lot.

They have to win this game for many reasons.  Mainly because it will put them 4 up on the Marlins with 16 to play.  It is the last game against a sub .500 team.  It will let us forget about last night.  It will make a 3-3 road trip.  It will be the 30th road win of the year.  They will only have to go 6-10 to rest of the season to be last year's record.

I bet the cost of opening the ballpark for business is much greater than what they take in per game.

Why does it really matter if we beat last year's record? I understand staying out of the cellar in your division, but playing against yourself doesn't really make sense. Doesn't seem like very good incentive.

I, for one, am getting really excited about the new park.  I figure I'm going to have to get in line at the crack of dawn when tickets go on sale for the first home game.

Suddenly the Marlin have the greatest bullpen in baseball.  12.1 Innings in this series only 2 runs.
We are so impatient at the plate.

I don't think it will be too hard. I was really surprised at how easy it was for the last few months to find Redskins tickets ANYWHERE in the stadium. A lot of people buy tickets just to profit later.

But really, would winning 1 or 2 games more than last year show that much improvement? I think we've already accomplished what we needed to, record-wise, and need to use this month more-so for evaluation purposes. We need to give the young guys like Maxwell more playing time to see how they do against MLB talent.
