Lodson's recap:

Quote
Right-hander Garrett Mock pitched the game of his life on Saturday night, and it helped the Nationals defeat the D-backs, 5-2, at Nationals Park for their seventh consecutive victory.

Mock lasted six innings and gave up two runs on five hits.

If 6 innings and 2 ER's is the game of his life, that's sad. I'm glad he had a strong start, but a CG shutout is a "game of your life."

Granted I didn't watch any of the game

Well PA, 6 IP and 2 ER is Mock's "game of his career" for now

Sure, if he said the best game of his career, that's great. He sure did. How about Burnett and Sosa

I'll do it.  Don't expect anything fancy, though.

This will be my first this year.
Copy and paste from here: http://www.wnff.net/index.php/topic,13922.msg404680.html#msg404680 and editing the info makes for a pretty decent looking one I think.

Sosa's throwing strikes. If he continues to do that, he'll be fine. He wasn't walking too many in the minors either.

Whos making tomorrows!?

I'd be there tomorrow if it weren't for the DC United-Real Madrid friendly...I haven't seen the Nats playing this gutsy since the overachieving .500 team of 2005.

Interesting that reported attendance is only 24,551 - looked a bit bigger.

I don't recall but kept the program from the door. Hopefully it is there and if so I'll post it tomoorow. That guy was freaking awesome. Best game f the year I've attended in person. 7, 7, 7! After not getting kicked in the teeth tonight I'm up for another game tomorrow, my friends however are gun shy. ROFL

We've discussed that here a a few times before.  He's a violinist with the National Symphony Orchestra in Washington.

Nats Park has a completely different atmosphere than it did earlier in the season. And the team is playing with a little bit of swagger now and it almost gives the fans confidence that we will basically win every game. The bobbleheads were awesome, the whole game was awesome and I was there during BP and I saw Dukes running around and everything and swinging the bat well so I don't think he's injured. Mock showed that he should stay in the rotation for now tonight, commanding the strike zone all night. 7 in a row let's keep it going tomorrow.

Great win!

Tonight I wore my Zimmerman jersey out to dinner because I didn't have anything else clean and someone actually stopped me and said "How about them Nats? 7 in a row man!"

I was in shock... I didn't know people in Richmond even knew the Nats existed.

Now we all understand why these guys need to go out and pitch against Major league hitters , take their lumps, so they can pitch like Mock did today.  Great job today and expect the same from JD Martin today.

I believe PC and hammonds had already called for the next two game threads so I didn't want to cut in line (and I can imagine the furor if I had done that and they went ahead and lost the game :spaz:).

I never imagined the day that I would actually be excited for Jorge Sosa coming in the game.
Dude, wrong Gameday thread.
