Shutting my machine down because its not plugged into a power strip

 

I'm not an electrical expert but the odds of lightning causing a power surge are very, very low.

Heavy equipment or faulty electrical systems cause power surges.

And, a power strip costs about ten bucks.   You should get one for your computer.
