Yeah but it's always easy to find other people to blame for failure. And even if that had anything to do with his current performance there were a lot more people involved in that decision, including Patterson, Bowden, the team physicians, etc. I think that was said to find an excuse for Patterson by his apologists and by those who despised Robinson for whatever reason.
ok, that makes sense. I do remember the 1st Nats game I went to was like April 15/16 or something like that in the first season in DC. The weather was awful, cold and rainy. Patterson was pitching against the Braves and we lost.
Maybe he isn't as good as everyone has been touting? I mean, good enough, but not "ace" good.
