"That will get the tying run to the plate in Ian Desmond"

That's great.  He's had such good at bats today. :spaz:

yeah he was poor offensively to say the least.

I'm wondering, what does a player have to do on this team to not be considered "lucky"?

Not by my metric.  The 10 run games were much worse than this.  We had a fighting chance in this one and went up against the hottest pitcher in baseball right now.  The others, IMO, were worse than this, assuming we don't come back and win it.

That's what make this loss so bad.  Getting good pitching with this team is such a challenge, when you get it and still lose!  >:(

To clarify, the PH move by Riggleman was luck in my opinion.

Hit a ball on the screws.

You now full well that a jam shot over SS isn't by design.

Desmond will probably swing for the fences and either strike out or pop it up

Tiant actually pitched 14.1 innings!

Wow, I didn't even see that. That dude pitched 311 innings when he was 33. How have I never heard of that guy? He was a beast.

Nah, not the manager's decision.  I've seen lucky thrown around like 10 times tonight about our players.  When does it cease to be luck and start to be some type of skill?

Series split. Not bad. I do hate losing the last one, though.

big surprise, Desmond strikes out a breaking ball.  He might have to go back to AAA to work on hitting them, b/c he hasn't hit one well yet.  :stir:

Willie Harris had one good at bat, Adam Kennedy had one good at bat, Pudge had two good at bats ... other than that everyone else was pretty worthless.

Great outing by Livan ... 3 quality starts - he looks like the real deal.

Didn't say it wasn't a bad loss.  I just don't think it's worse than the 10 run games.

Agreed. Always seem to hurt worst when you lose the series finale.

Well, I just got the Roku MLB.tv beta and now there is a PS3 MLB.tv app, so I can watch the archive of this game, but do I really want to?
