I bleepin hate Tony Armas.

At least he wont be around next season, unless the Nats change their mind about moving towards youth and pitching. Armas is a thrower, always has been. He's not worth show sole scrapings.

we said that last year.

but since Bowden doesn't have a  clue how to acquire and keep quality pitching, we were forced to bring him back.

meh.

hopefully he's gone for real this time, next season.

I don't blame Bowden for the $20 MLB and Selig gave him for free agency.

i didn't say anything about free agency.  Bowden is terrible with managing pitching personnel, in general. he was in Cincinnatti, and he's the same way here.  if there is any fault that Bowden has(besides being a self-important glory hound), it is that.

but this isn't really the thread to talk about it, anyway, so let's not open that can of worms.

let's stick to the game.

It is just Frank and some guys. Bergman has been up twice with the club and didn't better than Rivera his second time around, but he was the one that got sent down.

Tony Armas makes $2.1 million this year.  Are you telling me that you can't get a legitimate MLB pitcher for $2.1 million???  I can't be a fan of a sport when $2.1 million gets you this kind of performance!!!

not like we have any better alternatives.

anything better than what we've got now is on the DL.

The good thing is that Tony Armas is a free agent after this season!

Schroder has a 1.48 era in 42.2 innings.  Why not give him a chance?

yeah ... jason bergmann is better than saul rivera.  he's also a starter now, where he belongs.  call him up.  i'd rather give bergmann a shot out there rather than throwing armas every 5 days.

is it me or does Saul Rivera's mugshot in Gameday look like he's sitting on a thumb tack?

oh man ... there goes all of our momentum!  what's going to suck is that espn is going to be making a big deal: "and the giants snap their 9 game losing streak ... thanks to the nationals!!!"

Schmidt's up to about 90 pitches.  How much longer?

Yeah 90 pitches, but as long as he's tearing it up like he is right now we're going to be seeing a hole lotta schmidt

That is such a fitting quote for this team.
