We can still get back in this game if we can start to hit.

Exactly...this guy needs a great start to regain his confidence; maybe a start against the Pirates ;)
His next schedule start would be against Houston in that bandbox of a park.. I'd rather see him start in Columbus and for Bergmann to come back and take Matt's place in the rotation.

Is Beltran fast or what? That was a typical DP ball...

See, Khalil Greene is different than Jones or Reyes because he's not that good, but still notably kills the Nats.

I still remember that late night in 2005 when Cordero coughed up the 4-0 lead in the bottom of the 9th in SD.  Khalil Green with a grand slam......I couldn't believe I stayed up all night listening on the radio to have that happen.  That game effectively ended any chances we had to make the playoffs that year.  I just got sad again just thinking about it.  That entire series was a dagger.

I love Manny but there have been many situations this year where his over patience with situations has cost us many games.  Letting Chico start another game is an example.  Clearly he will go to AAA tomorrow.  Everyone saw it several weeks ago but he had to give us several lousy outings to prove it to Manny.
My hope is that when we have more talent next year he will not waste games trying to be patient with players that should not be playing.

Does anyone have a status report on Bergy?

No, but we blew a lead and lost the next day (Sunday) also.  I think we lost that game 2-1.

I believe Bergmann will have one more rehab assignment tomorrow for Columbus and should be back for the final game of the Houston series or the first game in Colorado.

Quote
Jason Bergmann (hamstring) made a rehabilitation start for Triple-A Columbus on Monday (August 13).
Bergmann threw 73 pitches in four innings, allowing five hits and three runs, walking three and striking out three. He could return from the disabled list next week.

And pitch who? He doesn't have a lot of options left. We've seen what there is I think.

How funny that my observation is considered an outburst when blatant insults and "f--k yous" directed at our favorite baseball team's players are just fine and dandy.

Give me a frickin' break.

It was the middle of the night and I just couldn't believe it.  khalil greene is the anti christ

You are right.....Frank inexplicably made two crazy pitching changes prior to the grand slam.  I can't believe I forgot about that.  Charlie's call was tragic.  I think we lost the next day on a crazy ass sac bunt attempt by Dave Roberts that we muffed and allowed the winning run to score.
