Duck Dunn passed away today.  Bass for Booker T and the MGs.  Also the Blues Brothers (who were all kick butt musicians).

Wow, Booker T. and the MGs were classic in the day  ...  Hip Hugger, Green Onions, Red Beans and Rice, etc.    One of the great inter-racial groups during a difficult time.

I remember him not only from the Blues Brothers, but as part of the "House band" with Paul Schaeffer for what seemed like every musical festival in the 80's and 90's.  RIP.

It's closing in on 2 years since the rock world lost one of it's best vocalists, and the general world lost a great guy.  RIP RJD :|

I might have to buy one of these limited edition statues, a portion of the proceeds go to Ronnie's "Stand Up and Shout" cancer fund.

(Image removed from quote.)

there was a nice tribute to him at the M3 festival this weekend, members of Great White and Warrant, along with Carmine Appice did Rainbow in the Dark, then the lead singer of Stryper along with a few others came out and did Heaven and Hell.

Michael Sweet through in a scream there at the end, sounds like he can still belt it out.

i was never a stryper fan, but he sounded OK.  Dokken sounded really good from what I heard, I only caught bits and pieces of the show throughout the day.

I'm not a huge Springsteen fan, but "Death To My Hometown" is a really good song.

The best way to reverse 15+ years of irrelevance is to sign Zoli to sing for your band.

This seems like the most appropriate place for this.  I found some old vinyl records at my parents place this afternoon.  Nothing super classic but I did snag a couple broadway records and some Sinatra, but I can't tell if they're 33 or 45.  How can you tell the difference?

33 are long play records.  Plays at 33 rpm.  45s are small 1 hit per side.

Me?  My alarm clock.  Dang it.Vacation's over!

Depending on the year, some albums denote 33 1/3 RPM on the label.

Depending on the age of the record it could actually be a 78.
