I just walked my dog, and barely avoided a skunk. No kidding. In Manhattan. A large family of skunks in Ft Tryon Park, always out at night chewing into garbage bags. "That black cat with the white spot isn't a cat!"
Last summer we had several foxes in the neighborhood. We walked up on a skunk one night and by the time I realized it one of my dogs had tried to pounce on it and you know what happened.
