The strike zone had better be the same for Livan as it was in the last half dozen or so pitches for Volstad!

Is Volstad already at 50+ pitches?

I think they said 55 before LaRoche's at bat.

You think so?  I've never really thought of base stealing as an NL thing.

It's not an NL thing but neither is moving runners over, sac flies and bunting.

Just caught up on a tivo delay.

Not sure why the Marlins didn't take the GIDP instead of trying to cut the run in the 2nd inning. Minimize the big inning.

Desmond with a Little League mistake trying to take third in the first inning. He's darn lucky he was safe tagging to third with Pudge jogging home.

That safety squeeze was beautiful. Pretty rare to get a 1b on a safety squeeze.

LaRoche really really sucks.

But you still prefer him over Dunn.

Shrug, that is the popular perception, and they're all frequently referred to interchangably as "small ball" and "NL style."  I'm not sure if you're just screwing with me or what, but I can't believe you would debate that.

This team's never going anywhere until we get rid of the biggest loser of all - Ryan Zimmerman.  Dude has been holding this team back for years.

It's only a popular perception for those who want to sound lofty by lauding the "virtues of NL baseball". while there are differences, they aren't as frequently seen as some people like to think. There may have been a little more of it witnessed in the 70's and 80's but not as much anymore.

Wow, when the Caps, Wizards, Nats and Orioles all play at the same time, the radio and TV people have issues.  Since CSN+ and MASN2 use the same channel (at least with Cox), the Caps are bumped to Newschannel 8.  As for the radio, I lost 1580 on the drive from Fairfax to Centreville.   At least the Wizards season will be over soon, but apparently 106.7 is also picking up Caps playoff games, so there will be more conflicts.  Boo.
