Nice strikeout - and good to know the spirit of Chad Cordero lives on.

GREAT WIN!

Hanrahan looked shaky as crap, but I'll take the curly W!

That's ****ing ridiculous.  Zimmerman has been trash at the plate this year and he has no discipline.  Dunn mashes and gets on base at a .400 clip.  I'd trade Zimmerman for Dunn straight-up without even blinking.

wow...someone did actually say that crap.

wow....

Now that you posted the quote, I do remember that.

Wilmington-Potomac (top of the 14th):  Leatherman actually returns for the 14th, to make this his third inning pitched.  The first two batters ground out, to give Leatherman two quick outs.  Leatherman started out shaky, but has pitched great in this high pressure situation.  The third batter grounds out to SS Daniel Lyons to put an end to a 1-2-3 inning for Dan Leatherman.  I don't think Leatherman will be out for a 4th inning, but no one is warming up in the pen.  The P-Nats, with the ejection of Burgess, lost their only big HR threat.  Let's hope they can find some late inning magic.

OP pitched well as did Hinckley and the bullpen (except for Estrada, man two in a row bad outings ... Hanrahan wasn't too great either).

Offense, wow what can I say.  Guzman, Zimmerman, Milledge, Dukes, Flores, Bonafacio leading the way with Belliard and Harris sprinkled in.  We settle our 1B problem (whether it's Young, Johnson or a Free Agent) and/or our 3rd OF problem (it's not Kearns, hopefully a trade or something) ... the offense will be much better next season and give our staff more support.  I still think we need another starter in the rotation.

Dan Leatherman sounds like somebody to keep an eye on. As recently as late July, his ERA was below 1.50 coming out of the Hagerstown bullpen.

This team really could be something if we had it together every night, no injuries, consistent at bats, another big bat, our bullpen all lined up... seems like a mediocre team right there

Wilmington-Potomac (bottom of the 14th):  We are at our second 7th inning stretch in Woodbridge.  Will this be the inning that the P-Nats finish the game?  Matt Rogelstad starts off the inning with a blooper to centerfield.  Dee Brown, who has hit well over .300 in the second half of the season, steps up to the plate.  Brown hits the ball back to the pitcher, who throws out Rogelstad at second.  Plasencia (0-4 with a walk) hits a sharp one to the second baseman and it turns into a routine double play.  Top of the 15th coming, Leatherman is being sent back out for his fourth inning.  How long can this guy go?

He made it into the Minnesota Twins minor league system after an open tryout with hundreds of other players.  The Twins decided to let him go and he signed with us this season as a minor league free agent.  He is 23 years old.

Wilmington-Potomac (top of the 15th):  The first batter swings at the first pitch, producing a fly out.  This game is now the longest in terms of innings for the Wilmington Blue Rocks.  It is also now the longest game in terms of time for both teams.  John Johnson strikes out on a checked swing, which was called by the third base ump.  With the count, the batter hits a line drive to Michael Martinez.  Gotta tip your hat to Dan Leatherman for his performance tonight, no one gave this guy a chance out of college and he is pitching a hell of a game right now as a reliever.

not to be overlooked, Colome's relief of Estrada. 3 PITCHES 3 OUTS! the game could've got out of hand right there but Colome calmed things down.

Wilmington-Potomac (bottom of the 15th):  Yes, I am still here giving you guys updates from the Potomac's playoff game.  BOOOMER Whiting, former LSU player, leads off the inning with a base hit.  Word is that BBQ's boy, Clint Everts, is warming up in the bullpen.  Boomer Whiting steals second with a late throw from the catcher, this guy is doing everything he can to help the P-Nats.  A base hit could win this one, hold on....

With a full count to 3B Stephen King, the ball is hit to the first baseman.  King is out, whiting moves up.  Whiting now on third with one out!!!  Jonathan Solano is now up, can he do it?

Haha, Debbi Taylor with the *wink wink nudge nudge* to Milledge about his slide.  "Did you know it was Utley?"

Wilmington-Potomac (bottom of the 15th):  Solano hits the ball in the air, but it is too shallow in Right Field, Whiting has to hold.  Now Daniel Lyons comes to the plate, who drove in the only P-Nats run of the game.

To be fair, Dunn's in a whole other league when it comes to production.
