If he did, they should absolutely throw a big offer at him.  He'd be a holy terror in the NL and lefties are almost required to win the NL East.  Lee and Stras at the top of the rotation would be a lot of fun to watch.

he also hates the phils with the way they treated him.  that's awesome in my book.

Gold glove my ass. Dunn could've scooped that ball!

Texas is going to win this series and the Rays will fade into obscurity.  Probably end up relocated now that old man Steinbrenner is dead.

He hates the Phillies, we hate the Phillies.  It's a win-win.  He'll probably end up in Atlanta.

The thing about the Rays is that their bats can wake up at any time.  So I certainly wouldn't count them out yet.

Well, no, not if he goes to Atlanta.  I'm just saying it'll probably someplace like that rather than what we want or expect...

I kind of feel bad for Tampa.

Cliff's in one of his moods today.

Only way to beat him is to hope he gets bored or falls asleep on the mound.

Assuming Texas holds on, we'll see if Texas can win a game without him on the mound.

Haha, yeah, pretty much.

This game is obviously very important to him, since with every batter retired his contract demands go up another $500k.

They talk about Nolan Ryan wanting his starters to pitch deeper in games.  The Rangers bullpen pitched the 5th most inning in baseball...and had a worst ERA than the Nationals' pen.

24 MLB teams had a worse bullpen ERA than the Nationals.

Truth.

Pretty solid realizing our starters don't go deep.

What is this business of giving up a run and then shutting them right back down?

I've never seen a Nats pitcher do that!

[Bub Lubson]

Hey @LintyFresh:  Take a look at that great defense by @CarlosPena.  Better get used to it since he's replacing that bum we're dumping this off-season.  He's leading the #Nats to the WS.

Question to Mike Rizzo...Why don't the CUBS want Carlos Pena?    :icon_frown:
