Heh, quite possibly, though pigskin was not a sport that 'respectable ladies' typically followed at the time.

Wait, she remembers the Redskins moving then?

Explain exactly how a salary cap achieves anything other than FISCAL parity.

if you couple a cap with a salary floor, potentially you even out the market so big market teams like the Yankees/Red Sox etc. aren't spending 3-4 times what small market teams are spending.

Are you kidding?  Bud Selig would be ecstatic if the Phillies and Yankees cruise through the playoffs to the WS.  In terms of effective market size (i.e. not including the Rangers because they aren't as into baseball as Philly right now) it would be the best possible matchup in terms of ratings of all the playoff teams.

Yeah, the fact that the Rays are in the mix with their low payroll gives him a reason to say how you don't have to spend like the Yankees and Sox to win. But he would also say that teams can't really be successful without a publicly financed stadium

Poor Roy O, he follows up a no-hitter by allowing a homer on the first at-bat. Cincy has one hit this series and one run.

Darn, I was hoping Bronson Arroyo would throw a no-hitter just to make everybody go WHA?

Reds just looked bad against Halladay on Wednesday because he was ridiculous, hopefully their offense lets them make up for lost ground tonight.  I predicted Phillies would win the WS but I would be happy to see an upset.

Would Domonic Brown be a more intimidating base runner if his name was Demonic?

When it got to 2-0 to Utley, I wanted Arroyo just to hit him and work to Howard. 1 run is better than a hit there.

One of the Reds fans on the forum I frequent was talking about how Arroyo "always has one bad inning" but calms down after that.  Sound like anyone we know?
