Executing a bunt would have given us runners on second and third with one out, in a 3-2 game, in the 8th inning.
...but you "never bunt your three hole hitter no matter how bad you think he's going"... 
Unfortunately, a bunt has to be properly executed to be successful. You can't assume it's a 100% lock when you call for the play.
