This sounds racist(?) but I'm so happy to see so many black players being drafted early.

Baseball desperately needs blacks to come back towards the game. Hopefully with more stars in the pipeline... things will start happening!

I agree.

Wacha may be a good pick. Nice low 90s fastball with a great rare RH changeup. Nice to slot in #3-4 spot in rotation in a few years. 6' 6" 200 lbs

Saw him compared to Clippard, great change that the fastball sets up with a fringe breaking ball.

wholeheartedly agree, and this might also sound racist, but this is the potential problem with the adjustment of the draft, inner city youth will not lean towards baseball over alternatives of basketball and football.  Baseball has always had problems getting natural athletes to choose baseball over the other big american sports, and these draft adjustments could further that.  As an inner city kid my entire life, it always pained me that more of the amazing athletes i grew up around never gave baseball a chance.

Or might Rizzo go with HS RHP Lucas Sims. Lots of options. No excuse not to get a difference maker out of this pick.

Cleveland-Naquin, we are gonna get a pitcher, unless it's Marrero, if they pick Marrero we could have Chris Marrero starting at 1st and Devin at short at some point in time, not for a prolonged time, but...

This guy doesn't like Wacha at all

http://www.bbprospectreport.com/2012/04/10/michael-wacha-update

Quote
What we have here is a guy with a big gangly body with limited body control. His arm works nice full circle, but he doesn’t use his lower half, throws standing up, can’t get downhill, his arm leads to everything placing too much stress on his shoulder, lacks a put-away secondary weapon and he’ll be 22 at the signing deadline.
Other than that, I love him.
He’s got a good arm, yes. But he’s asking his shoulder to do too much. He should have the arm speed for at least an average major league breaking ball at this point, but he doesn’t, and that’s because he can’t control his body through his delivery. He opens up way too often for my taste, he breaks his hands at inconsistent points, and he’s throwing too many straight as- an-arrow fastballs, even when they go 92-95 and come down a tick deeper in games.

Giolito would be my pick if I was Rizzo. If not him I would take Stroman.

Wacha would be last on my list of the guys we've been 'linked' to.

Giolito, McCullers, Sims, Hensley and Stroman would all be fine by me. Wouldn't mind Stratton and Marrero either.
