Here's the interview on MLB radio with Giolitohttp://siriusxmsports.posterous.com/lucas-giolito-16-overall-pick-to-the-national
Calling him "Gio" is going to get confusing pretty quick. Imagine the "Gio goes in for TJ" post in The Clubhouse.
What if it's Gios go in for TJ?!?!
He's already had it once, I think.
It's not on his wikipedia page.
Guess not, then!
Not sure if just commenting(Image removed from quote.)Or making fun of me for using wikipedia.
Where does it say he's already had TJ surgery? All I've seen is that he has a sprained ligament in his elbow.I like this pick. If one of Meyer, Purke, or Giolito becomes a number one starter, the Nats will have done well.
They were talking about whether or not Gio Gonzalez had TJ surgery or not.Giolito has not had it. Maintains it was just a strain, and he's on a throwing program. He'll throw off a mound at some point between now and deadline day, to maximize his potential bonus.
giolito is by far the most likely of the three to become an ace. although for him and purke it all comes down to health, which is causing me to grow increasingly more skeptical of purke.
Kilgore already cranking out the blog posts.http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/nationals-journal/post/nationals-draft-lucas-giolito-with-16th-pick-in-mlb-draft/2012/06/04/gJQAbStXEV_blog.html
sadly, he could end up being strasburg's replacement, assuming he's about 3 years away from the majors (maybe 4 if he has TJ).
This. Is. Amazing.Roy Clark compares Giolito to Roy Halladay in Kilgore's blog. Stras + Gio + Zmann + Gio2 + Meyer/Purke = 5AcesruKiddingMe?
