So if I'm not mistaken, this is the third straight ninth-inning collapse...

Tuesday: entered the top of the ninth leading 2-1, left it trailing 2-4*;
Sunday: entered the bottom of the ninth tied, threw it away and allowed a run on an error;
Saturday: the 5-0 debacle.

I could be wrong about Sunday's game (was asleep for most of it) but this is a very disturbing trend.

* - thanks to rileyn for quoting my post so I could catch the mistake

I'm for that...good job.  I'd rather lose to Alou than Barry.

Not quite.  Zimmermann sac'd home the guy at third, so there were runners only on first and second.

But besides that...  :roll:

May?  Hell, I miss Saturday night when we looked to be putting together a 5-game winning streak and keep on going with no end in sight :?

I would have pinch hit with Short instead of Zimmerman.  I think Short would have been more likely to get a hit instead of the sac fly.

Don't forget our last loss before the 4 game win streak came last Sunday against the Braves when Chipper JOnes hit a 2 run homer with 2 outs in the 9th.  So this makes our last 4 losses all being blown leads in the other teams final at bat.

I'm following the thread at times.  Just FYI  :)

What was the reaction to Bonds?

I was at the game and lots of boos for Bonds particularly during his first AB.....a few cheers from some Giants fans near us......lots of boos before he hit the homer but after he hit the homer many fans who had been booing started cheering.....

Folks, regarding the "die hards" comment at the start of the thread, I usually drop in during the game, but rarely comment.  I just get too antsy listening and usually stomp around the house drinking and muttering under my breath.  So just because me or others don't post, doesn't mean we're not here with the more vocal typists.

My observations thus far:

Livan is VERY sharp.  We need him to be !

There is a lone, very annoying Giants fan who is relentless in shouting "lets go Gi-ants" each half inning.  There was an echoing "let's go ster-oids" chanter as well, more amusing.

Looks like the offense is sitting back, waiting for Guzman to deliver.  Ok, c'mon Christian!!!

Go Nats!

Thank you Skins!

and some of us are at the home games :)

In the end, i knew the Astros easy ass schedule was gonna prevent not only us but the Marlin and Phillies from the playoffs. But come on lets' not forget this has been a hell of a season. In fact, I can actually say that this has been the best season in baseball EVER!! (wonder why that is? :lol: ) I love the Nats and I can't wait till next season

Okay, but the season isn't over and the Nationals aren't eliminated from the playoffs yet. Why on earth would you want to throw in the towel early?

IMO, we should forget the playoffs....................!

when we gonna be eliminated officialy from the playoffs, I"ll get mad if we won't play Short, Zimmerman on a regular basis!

Brandon Harris deserves a shot :( Anyways, let's give some playing time to our future.
